We just got back from a really good lunch at this establishment. I could not believe how nice the location was, the attentiveness of the waiting staff and the quality of the food. The restaurant itself is in a small shopping mall in the rocks, on the corner of Argyle and Kendell lane. There is something very enticing about the restaurant, there is an open kitchen where you can see all the chefs at work, the art is appealing and minimalist, but still relevant to the location. We sat inside due to the cold wet weather, but I imagine it would be a lot of fun to have a group at one of the long communal tables on the balcony.

Since Ying is likely to talk about what she ate I think I will describe what I had.

They have a choice between small plates and mains. We decided to go with the mains from the grill because I was interested in tasting something cooked over Blue Mountain Iron Bark. I was not dissappointed, I ordered the sirloin steak and it had a distinct smell and taste of wood smoke which was very pleasant. I had ordered medium and the steak was a very nice texture. It was served with a bernaise sauce, a side of 4 handcut potato chips and water cress. The bernaise sauce was quite light and not overpowering, the handcut potato chips were creamy and the water cress complimented the steak very well. I had this with a glass of merlot, a very agreeable finishing touch.

For dessert I had the meringue with cream and wild berries. The meringue was not too thick and the crust crisp and thin. It was perfect with a piccolo latte.

… I will definately go back to this restaurant again …
